Cards

Aether: Trading Card Game is a digital trading card game that allows players to build custom decks of cards to battle against opponents. Each card in the game represents an action that can be taken by playing the card, and there are three main types of cards: creature, spell, and relic. Players can include up to two of any individual card in their deck, with the exception of Legendary cards, which can only be included once. The game also offers both plain cards and Non-Fungible Token (NFT) cards.

Plain cards are digital cards associated with the player's account and can be used to battle opponents while playing the game. These cards include creature, spell, and relic cards that have various abilities and powers - such as providing additional life points, increasing damage, or providing protection from certain types of attacks.

Non-Fungible Token (NFT) cards are unique digital assets that are stored on the blockchain. These cards are more valuable than plain cards, as they can be traded, rented, or sold on the marketplace. Additionally, NFT cards also grant access to exclusive content, such as special bonus rewards, and can grant higher rewards when playing the game. As these cards are unique and stored on the blockchain, they are not only more valuable, but also more secure than plain cards.

Card Balance

We are introducing The Balancing Phase, a period of time in which we test newly released cards in a live environment to evaluate their performance. This helps us maintain a balanced game. The Balancing Phase runs for 60 days, but can be extended for an additional 30 days if needed. Although we may slightly alter the wording or rename effects, the card's essential functionality will remain unchanged.

As we navigate through the Beta Test period, please be aware that the Balancing Phase policy applies on a wider scale. During this time, cards may undergo alterations beyond the initial 60 or potentially 90-day period. This extension is due to the influx of new data and player interactions we expect to gather as more users join our platform.

We emphasize that this is a measure taken to uphold the long-term value and functionality of every card. The changes we make will be carefully considered, based on extensive player feedback and gameplay data. Our objective is to refine the game mechanics and ensure that every card has a meaningful role to play in the game's strategic landscape.

Remember, these changes are part of our commitment to making Aether: Trading Card Game a balanced, exciting, and fair gaming experience for everyone. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we fine-tune the game during this Beta Test period.

Rarity

Rarity is a rough measure of the quality and scarcity of a card. Cards of higher rarity are typically harder to find and more expensive.

There are 6 rarities:

  • Basic
  • Common
  • Uncommon
  • Rare
  • Epic
  • Legendary

In competitive play, rarity affects the availability of cards in your collection. Legendary cards can only have one copy in your deck, while some cards may have special effects based on their rarity. Generally, the more rare a card is, the harder it is to acquire it. This means that players will often have to go the extra mile to get the cards they need for their decks. As a result, rarity plays an important role in determining the power of a deck in competitive play.
